You'll Also Enjoy Our Hemp-Based Protein Snacks - Straight From My Kitchen

If you are enthusiastic about keeping physically fit, as I am, it can be a challenge to find healthy snacks which support your fitness goals.

This was the motivation behind the line of all-natural healthy raw snack foods you will find on this site.

But they certainly did not begin here. They all got their start in my kitchen decades ago.

As strange as it is to admit this, I have been fiddling with recipes for healthy snacks for probably half my life!

But before I tell you anything more about the origin of the hemp-based snacks on this page, let me quickly tell you why they are proving so popular with friends and family...

At Which Locations Can I Get My Hands On These Hemptastic Delights?!

Presently you can find the mouth-watering Fit Bites product line dispensed by vending machines at the following locations:
  • Anytime Fitness Whangarei, 93-95 Walton Street
The Top 7 Benefits Of Carrie's Bodaciously-Flavored Hemp Snacks!
  • A FLAVOR FOR EVERYONE - I could have stopped with Zesty Lemon, my first and possibly my favorite flavoring. Everyone seems to love it. But I wanted to make sure everyone would have the chance to choose their own favorite flavor. So now you'll have four more options to consider: Zingy Ginger, Choc Orange, Luscious Lime, and Coconut Fudge.

  • NO BITTER AFTERTASTE - Citrus fruits are appealing as a protein snack ingredient but the pith can leave a bitter aftertaste. Not to worry, I solved that problem by substituting with a secret but natural and highly nutritious ingredient that will respect your taste buds.

  • ALL 20 AMINOS - Of the 20 amino acids contained in hemp protein, 9 of them are the essential amino acids that your body cannot produce on its own (histidine, isoleucine, leucine, lysine, methionine, phenylalanine, threonine, tryptophan and valine). You could wolf down a good protein powder, or you could snack on one of these delicious "protein boulders".

  • HIGHLY DIGESTIBLE - Hemp contains two proteins, edestin and albumin, which are used by your body to quickly break down the remaining protein content, making hemp-based snacks highly digestible and easy on the stomach.

  • NUTRITIONALLY HEMPTASTIC - In addition to its strong protein base hemp is rich in nutrients, including heart-healthy, inflammation-quelling omega-3 fatty acids and gamma-linolenic acid (GLA), gastrointestinally-friendly colon-cleansing soluble fiber. These ingredients may help you feel fuller for longer and reduce food cravings.

  • MAGNESIUM RICH - Every 30 grams of hemp protein contains 260 milligrams of magnesium, or 65 percent of the recommended daily amount. Most of us are magnesium deficient, but every time you snack on a little hemp you are restoring the balance!

  • MINIMAL PSYCHOTROPIC REACTION! - Just kidding. Contrary to what many people might think, you cannot get your buzz on by eating the contents of hemp seeds, the primary protein constituent (no matter how many). The naturally occurring tetrahydrocannabinoid compound (THC) found in hemp is present only in trace amounts (between about 0.3 and 1.5 percent). Sorry, but chewing on these tasty treats will not get you high!

Who Came Up With The Fit Bites Idea?

Hey there, my name is Carolyn Hansen.

I am the creator of the Fit Bites line of healthy raw snacks. Notice that I have emphasized the word "raw". That means I never open an oven when it comes to preparing the delicious snacks which come out of my kitchen.

Instead, the end result of most of my recipes at least temporarily visit my refriderator, or if they are intended to last a while (like the hemp snacks outlined here and shown below) they are more on the dry side and can last a considerable time when packaged for distribution.

I am actually a bit of a fitness fanatic. I am also something of a purist when it comes to nutrition.

So of you ever wondered what a healthy snack might look like if created by the kind of person who cares deeply about what she is putting inside her body, then anything you find on this site will fit the bill.

I abhor preservatives and fillers of any kind.

You will not find anything unnatural in my product line. That means nothing you would not be likely to use in your own kitchen. Even then, much of what you might consider a "reasonable" ingredient might still be banned from my kitchen.

That means no sugar, no artificial sweenteners. No dairy. No eggs. No wheat or gluten.

What you will find is plenty of the natural ingredients that our ancestors would have recognized as "real" food.

So, plenty of nuts and fiber and healthy fats. And of course, hemp seeds!

I love the texture and fiber and sweetness of dried coconut and dates.

I love coconut oil which I consider to be one of the few healthy fats we should all be incorporating into our diet.

I could go on about the various healthy raw ingredients I've chosen to feature in my line of hemp snacks. But instead of try to convince you of their health benefits I would instead encourage you to try them. From the moment you take your first bite I am confident you will recognize I have put a lot of thought into what goes into creating a snack that doesn't just taste amazing, but it is also amazingly healthy for your body.

That after all is the primary goal for all of the products created for the Fit Bites brand - that your physical and nutritional well-being should never have to be compromised simply because you like tasty snacks!
